Damn I look good!

Last night was one of the best nights I have had in quite a long time. Matt and I took a group of friends (like 10 of them) to The Comedy Club on State here in Madison. What is so special about going to the Comedy Club you may ask. Well, my most FAVORITE comedian EVER was there last night. I have been waiting for this show for at least a month.

I have seen The Midnight Swinger three times now here in Madison. His show is phenomenal! He has so much energy and puts on THE best show. I really have to get out to Vegas to see him on his own turf.

We saw him last year for my birthday and I posted about the show. The Swinger actually posted a comment on that one. How cool!

After the show last night, I asked The Swinger if I could get a picture with him. My friend Brett, who took the picture, asked The Swinger if he recognized me and then preceded to tell The Swinger who I was and about my post last year. HE REMEMBERED MY BLOG! I got my picture taken with The Swinger and he thanked me for the many kind words and publicity. He even gave me a copy of his new DVD. I was so psyched after the show last night. I got to meet my FAVORITE comedian, get my picture taken with him, got an autographed DVD of his show, and got a kiss on the cheek. What a night. It will definitely be a night to remember.

I'm pissed!

Yeah..you read it right. I am pissed. It is October 12th and we are already experiencing friggin' snow. WTF? It should not snow in early October. We have not really had a fall yet. Cannot skip fall and go straight into winter....it is just plain wrong!

Okay...I guess I am done ranting until next time.

Stay warm! (LOL)

The "S" word

Okay...so here it is, October 10th. It is, according to my little weather thingy on my computer, 46 degrees outside right now. Brrr! It's too cold too early this year. Man! This sucks ass! It's only OCTOBER 10th!

To make it worse the weather man said the "S" word last night. Yeah...it is supposed to snow Thursday. That so sucks! I thought last year when we got our first snow on November 15th was bad. IT'S ONLY OCTOBER 10th!

I am soooooo not ready for cold weather. Get ready for future rants on here about it being cold. I doubt it will get warmer than today....our high was 57 degrees.

Stay warm!

The Numbers Are In....

So the final numbers are in for this years MADSS Buddy Walk. We had nearly 1000 walkers brave the rain (okay...not much rain but hey...it was wet) and raised about $73,000. I think this years goal was $63,000. That's awesome!!!

The Jay Walkers were in the top 5 money raising teams. We had 38 walkers and raised $3865.00! My goal this year was to raise $150.00. I ended up raising $190.00. Thank you to all of you who pledged this year. I really appreciate all of your support.

Thanks again to all who volunteered, pledged, supported, or whatever! You made Buddy Walk successful!

Thanks!!!

Walk Down Memory Lane

Thanks to a post over at The Rain King's blog on Monday(which I really did not read until today), I had a little walk down memory lane.

The Rain King posted a video he found by Subrosa. I know...many of you may not know who Subrosa is but they were a kick ass band from Gainesville, Florida. They started out as a band called For Squirrels but because of a auto accident and the death of two members and their tour manager Subrosa was formed.

Anyway, the video that The Rain King posted was "Buzzard" which is from the CD "Never Bet the Devil Your Head." It is a great CD by the way. So anyway, I decided to go to YouTube and see if I could find anymore "lost videos" from Subrosa and I got lucky.

I found "The Life Inside Me Killed This Song" and I also found For Squirrels "Mighty KC." I did this song in sign language in a psychology class at SJRCC as a part of a presentation on the Deaf and other aspects.

So anyway...these take me down memory lane because when I hear these songs and other songs by Gainesville, Florida (and surrounding areas) artists, I think of the Covered Dish. The Dish, as we called it, was a great place to hang out and listen to local music. I think Subrosa was one of the last bands I saw at The Dish before it closed its doors. It sucked when they closed cause it hurt some bands, Subrosa included. Some of the great bands that played The Dish (and are from the Gainesville area) were bloom., Less Than Jake, Noah's Red Tattoo, and many more. You may not have heard of many of these bands but I am guessing most everyone has heard of Less Than Jake. They are a popular Ska band.

Ah, what I would not give to see a video of "Worlds Greatest Lover" which is my favorite Subrosa song...okay I like all their songs. I guess I cannot choose just one cause I like "Rollercoaster" and "Antigen Fiend" and man...I could go on and on and on.

You can go to Amazon.com and listen to a sample of the songs on Subrosa's album "Never Bet The Devil Your Head" (incase you have NO idea what I am talking about).

Well, anyway. I wanted to pass along this walk down memory lane to my readers. If you remember any of this, post a comment. I would like to hear you Dish memories.

Bye All!!!
