Roller Coaster MUST!!!

If you love roller coaster, and who doesn't, you have to come to the Wisconsin Dells and go to Mt. Olympus Water and Theme Park to ride their new coaster, Hades (look at the picture in the Final Construction link). Yep...the God of the Underworld. It's scary as hell too and it's a wooden coaster to boot. You get on and it pulls you up to 160 feet in the air (that's above the trees people) then the first drop is a wicked 140 foot, 65 degree angle fall. It goes into another up and down, straight into a tunnel. Yep, a tunnel. Hades is the WORLD'S longest underground coaster....complete darkness. I found out after our ride that one of the banks in the tunnel is 90 degrees. I saw pictures. I DO NOT remember being sideways in the tunnel. It's wild! It whips you at speeds of up to 70 miles per hour. That's fast.

When we got off, I was shaking. I have never been on a coaster like this before. I totally recommend it. It's a must for roller coaster fanatics.

Speed on!

Sad news today

My favorite character from the original Star Trek series has passed away. James Doohan, better known as Scotty, passed away at his home in Washington state Wednesday. Surviving cast from the original series include Captain Kirk, Spock, Chekov, Sulu, and Uhura. Scotty will be missed. To find out more, click here.
There have been a lot of famous deaths so far this year. You can see a list here. And here.

So long for now.

Image of the Day

So, a few days ago Matt sent me a link to an image that the Hubble Telescope picked up. It didn't look real to me so I brushed it off. Today I found that image on Nasa's website while I was searching for the latest Florida hurricane images.

I was so awed by this image that I thought I should share it with you. If you don't get why this is such a neat image, you are probably not a Lord of the Rings geek like me. Hehe. Looks like Sauron's eye is still seeing afterall. ;)

Enjoy!

Only in the South...

More precise...only in Georgia. The Redneck Games will be celebrating their 10th anniversary this year. I learned about the Redneck Games through Yahoo's Odd News. I love reading these articles because they just make me laugh. I recommend reading the Odd News every few days...it really makes you laugh....and sometimes makes you think.."why on Earth would someone do something like that?" It's so much fun.

According to the Yahoo article, these games were thought up as an Olympic publicity stunt (for the 1996 Atlanta Olympics) but it caught on and have been building a following every year since. The Redneck Games have even gotten coverage from MTV to the BBC. If you want to read more about it, and I recommend you do, click here.

Viva la Rednecks!!!
