Jackass 2

We finally got out to see Jackass 2 tonight. OMG it was hilarious. I cannot decide if it was better or as good as the first Jackass movie. I think I laughed harder during this one but I think the stunts were better (and more elaborate) in the first one. I definately recommend going to see it if you like this kind of humor. Oh yeah and Rotten Tomatoes gave this movie like 60%. Ebert and Roeper gave it two thumbs up. It's the top movie at the box office. Go see it!

Do not attempt at home.

Buddy Walk 2006

The Jay Walkers

The 5th annual MADSS Buddy Walk was today. We had over 1000 participants in the walk. We only had 500 or so last year. Way to go Madison!!!

My team, The Jay Walkers, ended up being a top 5 money raising team. GO JAY WALKERS!!! I do not know how much we raised but I ended up raising $190.00 (my goal was $150.00). Thanks to all of you who helped me surpass this goal. You all rock!!! Thanks! We should know final numbers by Friday. I will update when I know more. Thanks all!!!

Movie Reviews

Okay...I have been really busy with school, Buddy Walk, Nannying, and more school. Oh and I have been under the weather. Yay!

Matt and I saw two movies lately and I thought I would combine both reviews in one post.

Movie number one: BEERFEST
All I have to say is FRIGGIN' HILARIOUS (if you like senseless humor....like most Broken Lizard movies). I thought it was very funny and enjoyed it a lot. Matt thought it was pretty good. If you like Broken Lizard movies, you will like this one. It is not my favorite Broken Lizard movie (I have to vote for Super Troopers as my favorite...), but it is a good one. Speaking of Super Troopers , BL has announced that they are making a Super Troopers 2. YAY!!!! I am excited. So anyway...if you like beer and humor and boobies (yeah...there are lots of boobies in this movie) you should go see Beerfest . This is what Rotten Tomatoes says about Beerfest .

Movie number two: SCHOOL FOR SCOUNDRELS
We saw this one as a preiew movie (still had to pay $8.25/person for tickets). Yeah...so I would not recommend on seeing this one, or at least not in the theaters. Rent it if you must. I thought this was going to be a funny movie but I have to admit that it was not really all that funny. I guess one cannot judge a movie by who is in it. I really like Billy Bob Thorton. And Jon Heder is not that bad an actor. But this movie was just not that great. But do not take my word for it...got to Rotten Tomatoes to read their review. Matt says "meh" about School for Scoundrels (I am not really sure what that means but I do not think it is good).

So that is one good movie and one not so good movie. If you have seen either, let me know what you think. Seen a good movie that I have not reviewed? Let me know...I am in the mood for a good movie.

Thanks!!!

Wedding music

After a tiring and painful time of trying to get Matthew to give me his opinion on anything pertaining to OUR wedding, he finally decided that we should have Jazzy, Bluesy (sp) music for the reception. This is great...we both love Etta James, John Coltrain, Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra, and more. If you have an artist or song you recommend, send it my way. I would like any jazzy, soulful, bluesy type suggestions.

Thanks!!!

YAY

Thanks to the toilet Gods, we now have flushable toilets at school. I used them twice today. :)

Any Suggestions?

I am trying to figure out what music we want to play at our wedding. I have a small list started but I would like some suggestions. Matt and I like a wide variety of music. I think we have both lost interest in today's music. He keeps his car radio on NPR and I have mine on the oldies station. LOL.

Anyway...leave some suggestions. We are open to most anything.

Thanks!!!

Update on school

Bucky's is providing our porta potty suites. I tried to take pictures today but my batteries died in my camera. Yeah...I was the weird teacher taking pictures of the porta potties. LOL. But you can see their promotional pictures here. I am hoping we still have them on Monday. I have fresh batteries in my camera and hope to get some inside shots.

They finished drilling the well yesterday. They hit water at 300+ feet. The water is being tested to see if it is drinkable. They tell us that we should have flushing toilets by Monday and drinkable water by Wednesday. I am not holding my breath. If we do not have toilets on Monday, it looks like we will be calling our parents to let them know we are delaying the start of school.

OH...we have mice at school too. The music teacher found a dead one in her classroom. The kids are so funny about the mice too. I think I should borrow Missy and see if she can rid the school of their mice problem.

Anywho....catch you later...this bloggers heading to bed.

First Day of School

So yesterday was the first day of school in Dane County.

I am student teaching again this semester (it is my last semester...yay me!!!). I am working in an Early Childhood classroom (it is basically a 3 and 4 year old special education classroom) and those kiddo's do not start until September 12th. Yay...no kids for the week.

I got to school yesterday morning to find out that our school had NO water. Yep...NO WATER! That means no washing your hands with soap and no potty breaks. So what did they do instead of canceling school? They rented porta-potties. Yep...porta potties. Not those nasty green porta-potties but what they call "suites." Really nice potties....music, running water, soap, and a flushable toilet. Apparently though they were not as nice today after being used yesterday by the WHOLE school (K-5th grade). Needless to say, I did not go potty at school today (gives me the jeebers just thinking about it).

Anywho...I am SO glad we do not have our kiddo's this week. I cannot imagine changing diapers and all those germs you have with 13 children in a classroom without having running water. Hand sanitizer just does not cut it.

They had half the parking lot closed off today and I am glad our classroom is towards the back of the school because they had the big truck drilling (or redrilling) our new well. For some reason it is out front of our school in the flowerbed. Yeah...great planning there guys.

So they are "supposed" to have the well done by Friday. If we do not have water, we might be postponing Early Childhood another week. It has definately been a learning experience and I cannot wait to have running water again at school. You really do not realize how many times you wash your hands during the day until you cannot.

I will keep you updated.
