This Blogger's Heading South

Well, I'm off to Florida for two weeks. We are going down for Steele's wedding and much needed R&R. Looks like we are either going to spend some time in Kentucky or Georgia (Savannah). I am not sure yet what we are going to do. I would like to spend time in the caves and caverns in Kentucky but I also want to see Savannah again. I really want to see the cemetery there (you know, the one that was in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil) to see the Bird Girl statue but unfortunately she is not there anymore. She is actually in a museum right now. That sucks.

Oh well, I will try to blog while I am in Florida (if anything interesting happens). I will definitely post pictures of Steele's wedding when I get a chance.

Chat with ya'll soon!!!

Damn you rain!!!

Okay! For those of you who do not know me, I am a planner. I love to plan out things in advance. I do not like to be suprised by things that could have been prevented by planning. Matt and I are going to Florida for my brother's wedding and we are leaving next Friday. For weeks now, I have been wanting to pack. But I cannot do that cause things I want to pack are things that I still need to use daily. So I started making a list instead. But enough about that. Packing does not have anything to do with the rain.

So we have not had much rain to speak of in the last few weeks. It has been Wisconsin hot (okay...that's 93 degrees with a 70 % humidity which is different from Florida hot which is 100 degrees with 100 % humidity) which has been down right pleasant (except for my 3 mile walks...that gets just hot and insanely sweaty...but I will not talk about that). For a few months now, I have been walking religiously (except for the weekends it seems) with a friend. We started walking three miles in 1 hour and 30 minutes...and now we have that same three miles down to 1 hour and 10 minutes. Which is great even in the Wisconsin heat. :)

About two weeks ago, I planned on taking the boys I nanny to the zoo. We have not been yet this summer and I was over due to take them. We planned on yesterday. We had also planned on meeting a friend and her kids there. Alas the damned rain came in with 80 mile an hour winds (according to the news) over night and threatened to rain all morning. So as soon as we settled on different plans the sun came out. Damn rain. Wednesday, I left work early to go walking and no sooner did I get off the phone with my friend did I see a bolt of lightening flash across the sky from one radio tower to the other. It really was neat but not conducive to walking. I did not fancy myself being struck by lightening and neither did my friend. So we decided to wait it out. I never got to walk that night.

Finally that leads me to today. As I am writing this, there is a system moving through Illinois. Some of that system has long bands of rain which are stretching into Wisconsin. And some of those bands are reaching Madison. It has been overcast all day and just finished raining. I hope it clears up. My walking buddy and I planned to go canoeing today (2 weeks ago, I might add). I have been looking forward to this for weeks!!! I just checked to radar loop and it looks like we are not out of the rain yet. That sucks. I really want to go canoeing. Matthew will not go canoeing with me so I am limited in my options of canoe partners (I like to be in control of the canoe).

So anyway...That was my rant for the day. Sorry my latest post had to be a rain rant. Hey, it has foiled me for three straight days. Damn rain. Maybe I will just go see Clerks II instead. That will be fun but it will not be canoeing.

Oh well. I hope ya'll have a great weekend.

Catch ya later!!!
