Yep...Spring Has Arrived

All the signs are here...sneezing, congestion, sinus headache, and itchy/watery eyes. Spring and all it's glory is here. Allergies. YUCK!

Signs of Spring also come with the thunderstorms we braved through in the Midwest today. Yes siree...it is Spring. I hope this means that Wisconsin winter is really over. Happy Spring to everyone. Hope you are all enjoying the beautiful weather, the tornado sirens, and the allergy medications!

Cheers!

Spring Has Finally Sprung

Well everyone...it has finally happened. Spring has finally come to Wisconsin. Spring did not forget about us afterall...but we will see how long it will last. Saturday I broke out the flipflops and capri pants. Yesterday I actually wore a short sleeved shirt and capri pants. I was so excited. The high for Madison was 64 yesterday and 68 today. WOW!!! 68 may not be exciting to some of you but after you have seen nothing but temperatures between 10-30 degrees, you get excited about 68. So anyway...I think I am over my Spring Blues. Happy Spring everyone!!!

Astronomy Picture of the Day

I happened upon the Astronomy Picture of the Day when I googled "Earth's Night Lights." Every day there is a new picture, so check back often. I thought it was very interesting and wanted to share with ya'll. Enjoy!

Only in Wisconsin

Wisconsin...home of the Packers (and Packer Backers), the Badgers, and of course who could forget cheese heads. Apparently weird things happen here too. Check out Weird Wisconsin for some weird headlines and news, conferences (upcoming and past), and of course a travel guide for local legends and best kept secrets. The headlines and news are about half way down the page. They are pretty interesting. All I have to say is...only in Wisconsin. Enjoy!

Spring Blues

Yep...that's right. I have the Spring Blues. I'm not going anywhere for Spring Break but that doesn't really bother me much. I really think Spring Break is overrated anyway. I love the beach but I very much dislike Spring Breakers. They're noisy and just plain annoying. I know this because I use to live in Florida and work in a hotel.

But I think I have the blues because here it is, day two of Spring and there is at least 4 inches of snow on the ground. Wait...let me see what the temperature is outside right now....okay, it's 41. Not bad but still sucky. Yeah...I have the winter blues...I know it's Spring, but not in Wisconsin. I think Wisconsin forgets about Spring sometimes. I am so sick of snow and cold and no sun...wait, the sun is shining today. We'll see how long that lasts. I hope this summer is nicer than last Summer. It was like Spring lasted until it was Winter again. I don't think we saw a day last Summer over 85. Some say that's nice...not me. I want the Summer to be HOT! That's what Summer is supposed to be...HOT. Oh well, guess I'm just venting.

Catch ya'll next time!

Ring 2

So, I just got back from the movies. We have been waiting to see The Ring 2 since we found out they were making a sequel to the original. I must say that I was semi disappointed. There were some scary parts but as a whole, it was not that good. What I liked about the first Ring was the time restraints. In the second Ring, there was no real time limit for the characters to figure things out. No one had 7 days before they died. The Ring 2 did not creep me out as much either. I think the first movie was very psychological. It just seemed too real...well not real but too close to home. Samara comes out of the TV for goodness sakes. How creepy is that?
So, The Ring 2, was okay but did not follow the same thrillingness as the original.

Worst Movie Ever

Okay, Matt and I just finished watching probably the worst movie ever made...Wes Craven's Last House on the Left. It actually made Bravo's 100 Scariest Movie Moments. It made number 50. I thought it was just plain awful. If you want to watch a movie in disbelief of how horrible it is, watch this one. Do you have a favorite worst movie? Let me know.

Writing for fun

As long as I can remember, I've been a writer. I have so many stories I've started and never finished. With some of them I can see why....they are very bad. Okay, so I wrote them when I was in middle school. But now I have embarked on a new story. I hope that someday I will get it published. My genre of choice for my new novel is...historical romance set in Regency London (early 1800s). I have spent numerous hours researching how to write historical romance, London, Regency and Victorian Era's, Egypt, travel (carriage and boat), architecture, and clothing. It has been a lot of fun researching and I hope I can capture this in my book.

I am taking a little break from writing because of school, but I plan to pick it back up this summer. I am currently on page 37 (and stuck). After long discussions with my editor (my dear mother), I am changing parts of the book, which will make it better. I will keep everyone updated on my progress.

Take care!

Matt's Close Encounter

So, for my first post, I just have to say that Matthew (my boyfriend) had a close encounter on his flight to Albuquerque Sunday, March 13. He was sitting in the terminal because his flight had been postponed and looked up to see someone who looked like someone famous. After looking at this gentleman for a while, he realized it was Ben Kingsley, famous for playing Mohandas K. Gandhi in the movie "Gandhi." I just thought that was really cool. Ben Kingsley on a plane with my boyfriend. Now, that just doesn't happen everyday.
