What's On My Mind Today?

On This Day...

Twenty-five years ago on this day, May 18th, Mount St. Helen's erupted with violence. At 8:32 a.m. on May 18, she erupted. She was shaken by an earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale. The eruption lasted 9 hours. Mount St. Helen's and the landscape around was left drastically changed. The blast took out nearly 230 square miles of forest. Ash and smoke drifted far from the volcano. If you want to learn more information, visit Mount St. Helen's website. You can also view the live Volcanocam.

Unfortunately, today, for viewers anxious to see if she would awaken further the weather was not cooperative with viewing the volcano. Maybe tomorrow.

Later!
