I am going to cry

More cold weather is in our future here in Madison, Wisconsin. That sucks. I hate snow. I hate cold weather. I hate ice. I hate nonexistant numbers. Whoever said a negative number was a number should be shot. Negatives are not numbers. Come on!

It is currently 13 out right now. That is durn cold.

It is bad enough having a cold day of about say 9 degrees for a high, but it is a whole other story when you add wind chills that make it feel a whole hell of a lot colder outside (-15 to -20). WTF? Too cold for me.

Look at our outlook (from the fine people of Channel3000 News:

Friggin' Cold!!!

The weather man just said we were in for some cold days ahead. It is 10 out right now. He said it is only going to get colder over the week. He also said we will be colder this week than they will be in Fairbanks, Alaska. That is damn cold! Colder than Alaska. WTF!?!

What is it?

It took 16 people to build.

It is larger than a house.

It is unbelievable.

It is gigantic.

It has a traffic cone for a nose.

It is a big ass snowman.

FINALLY

I finished up my last day of student teaching on Thursday. I am officially D-O-N-E and unemployed. Now starts the job hunting. I am already in the works to start subbing in two school districts. I applied to an after school program and I applied to UW Whitewater's Child Care Center for a short term employment position. I hope I get it cause I really want it. It fits perfect with what I want to do in the future.

I will keep you posted on my job hunting.

Bye!

Pictures

Finally...here is a picture from our last snowfall (5.9 inches of snow). I put the rest up on my Flickr account. Check them out.

I finally went sledding for the first time. It was at school with the kiddo's but it was a blast. I cannot believe I have missed that much fun in the past 5 years we have lived here. It was too much fun. Unfortunately I did not get pictures. I will try to remember to take the camera next time I go and get some pictures.

See ya!

Snow!

Sunday we had more snow. The news today said we had 5.9 inches. This puts us at almost 20 inches for the season so far. WAY under what we should be at (I cannot remember what our normal snow amount is for this time of year but it is more than 20 inches).

I may go cross country skiing for the first time next weekend. If not, I may go sledding. We shall see. I will blog all about it and maybe have pictures to post.

I do have some snow pictures but Matthew has the camera this week in Chicago. I will post them as soon as I can.

Good Night!

The Top!

Well, after North Carolina's loss this weekend to Virginia Tech, Florida is #1 in the NCAA Basketball rankings. GO GATORS! Wisconsin moved up too. They are number 2. GO BADGERS! I hope things stay the way they are going. It would be great if Florida got ANOTHER national championship.

GO TEAMS!!!

In memory

Today is a sad day in the NASCAR family. Benny "BP" Parsons passed away early this morning from complications of lung cancer (though he never smoked a day in his life).

"BP" will be sadly missed in the NASCAR community.

Snow?

Saturday we got a wee bit of snow. We were supposed to get more today. We are under a winter weather watch right now until 6 p.m. Monday night (it started at 6 p.m. tonight....24 hours of winter weather watch...FUN!). Err...just checked the status of our winter storm....winter weather watch expires at noon tomorrow instead. The status changes so much that it will probably be different by the time I go to bed tonight. The radar loop looks pretty cool though. It really looks like the storm is breaking up and making a hole right around us. It is too funny. You can see it better on the National radar loop. I know that none of this will make sense to those who read this after the storm moves through tomorrow but hey...it is something to write about.

So we are in for 3-5 inches of snow by morning. Yay! If we get enough snow, we may go sledding tomorrow...or cross-country skiing. Maybe. Maybe not. I will update if it gets exciting. I doubt it will.

Stay warm!

Okay...

I have stooped to a new low. I am so starved for some NASCAR action that I have started reading the NASCAR Harlequin romance novels. It really is a new low. When I started reading romance novels 2 years ago, I promised myself that I would NEVER pick up a Harlequin novel. Well, I broke that promise. I have already read Dangerous Curves and am now reading (as you can see from the side bar) In the Groove. Dangerous Curves was not bad...I probably would not read it again but it was not bad. I started reading In the Groove last night and it is quite funny. I think it will be better than the first one. But anyway...I guess I have broken that promise to myself in order to get a NASCAR fix.

I still have 37 days until the Daytona 500 so I have to find something to pass the time until then. I wonder what I did before the NASCAR season got this long. I am going crazy waiting. Oh well. I guess I had better finish my last glass of wine and get my ass to bed.

Chat with ya'll later!

National Champs!!!

Well, I am one tired and happy little gator. What a game! The Gators slaughtered the Buckeyes.

We were joking last night that the Buckeyes are gonna loose all the stickers they got on their helmets for playing such a bad game.

I thought we were done for after seeing the first 16 seconds of the game. 93 yard touchdown? WTF! But it turned around and we kicked their asses.

Now the University of Florida has two National Championships in two sports: Football and Basketball. What a year!

GO GATORS!!!

El Nino?

I am sitting here on my couch watching the news. The area lakes have been without ice for like 25+ days, we set a record high today at 49 degrees (beat the current record of 48 degrees in 1946), and we have only had 7.6 inches of snow this winter (normal snow to date is like 20 or so inches). So I sit here thinking to myself whether El Nino or Global Warming has something to do with this odd winter weather this year. Wisconsin is not the only place that has effected by weird winter weather. The Northwest has been bombarded by gobs and gobs of rain, the plains are getting more snow than they know what to do with (well, I take that back....they are selling it on ebay). New Yorks Central Park has not had ANY snow this year which has not happened since the late 1800s. Hurricane season this year was a WOW. Hell, Brian Williams is even talking about the weather on NBC Nightly News. NOAA is saying it is all because of El Nino. Which makes sense but why is everyone not considering global warming? I dunno.

I thought this winter was an interesting one. You cannot go anywhere without hearing anyone say "I can't believe the weather" and other comments like that. I do not mind the lack of snow. I actually like it but now I am thinking what it will be like when the mother load finally hits us. Man, I hope I do not have to be anywhere when that happens. I am happy as long as we do not get late snow. As long as it does not snow in June, I will be happy...I DO NOT NEED SNOW FOR MY WEDDING!!!

I gotta get dinner going...enough for now.
